WB donates equipment to USeP

world bankThe World Bank (WB), International Bank for Reconstruction and development and the International Development Association purchased equipment to the USeP specifically in the Knowledge for Development Center.

The Bank has procured two units brand new HP desktop personal computers with monitor, printer and web camera. Ms. Resty D. Macarayo acknowledged stewardship and received full responsibility in taking good care of the equipment.

“We provide these in response to the need expressed by our KDC network partners, especially during the KDC and Depository Library Network meeting”, said Hofman, the Country Director of WB-Philippines in his letter to Dr. Perfecto A. Alibin, the President of USeP.

To improve connectivity and access to information on the Open Data Initiative, as well as the access to information policy of the World Bank reaching wider audiences are the objectives of this project. However, with these new facilities, it is expected that the KDC will assists in giving accurate and updated information and to immediately respond to the in dire needs of the research community in particular.

“We thank you for the partnership over the previous years, and hope these new equipment will contribute to more productive activities that make a difference in promoting inclusive growth in the Philippines”, added Hofman.

Trivia: USEP is the only recipient of the WB-KDC in region XI.
