USEP Marks Academic Engagement with Yogyakarta State University, Indonesia

USeP President entered into an agreement with Yogyakarta State University (YSU), Yogyakarta, Indonesia to extend International Cooperation of the two state universities in Southeast Asia until 2017.  This move is considered a significant event as USeP prepares for the ASEAN Integration in 2015.  The discussion, held at the Rectorate of Yogyakarta State University, Indonesia on October 13, 2014, was participated in by Dr. Wardan Suyanto, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Dr. Suwarsih Madya, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Partnership Affairs, and other officials of YSU. The USeP delegation was headed by Pres. Perfecto A. Alibin and escorted by Mr. Soehardi of the Indonesian Consulate in Davao.

                  In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between USeP and YSU, which primarily promotes academic engagements in both Asian countries, some Doctor of Education students of USeP led by their Comparative Administration (EDD 319) professor, Dr. Edna H. Jalotjot, visited YSU in Yogyakarta  on October 13-17, 2014.

Three students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (HM) represented the University of Southeastern Philippines
(USeP) as finalists in the 2nd URC Flourish Pilipinas Regional Baking Competition, held on August 22, 2014, at the University of Mindanao, Matina Campus.  The baking competition was participated by professionals, teachers/instructors, and students as it is open to all interested parties.


USeP Prexy Bags Asia Education Leadership Award; Alumnus Leads Ramon Magsaysay Awardees

The University of Southeastern Philippines’ (USeP) President, Dr. Perfecto A. Alibin, received the Education Leadership Award from Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Asia, and its Strategic Partner, World Education Congress, on August 1, 2014, at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore.

CMO Asia held its 5th Asia’s Education Excellence Award in Singapore, endorsed by World Federation of Academic & Educational Institutions, CMO Council, Asian Confederation of Businesses, and World Private Universities Forum & Awards, in partnership with Stars of the Industry Group.

Before the recent CMO Asia Award, Dr. Alibin had also received various esteemed awards which served as proof of his professional diligence, passion towards excellent education, and industry contribution. He was a recipient of the Datu Bago Award, 2014, the highest and most prestigious award that the City of Davao bestows to its constituents.

USeP Partnerships Bring Scholarship Slots to Studes

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) signed two Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) from Lifebank Foundation, Inc. (LBF) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on May 26, 2014.

The MOAs between USeP and the two other agencies are in line with the University’s goal to pursue its mission further, with the extent of reaching out to various for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Offering scholarship grants to deserving students is one way of fulfilling the University’s social responsibility. Aside from maintaining a higher quality of education, the University also aims to make this learning opportunity accessible to students from all facets of life.

Lifebank Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization by virtue of the Philippine Law with juridical capacity which was represented by Mr. Manuel P. Perlas, President, LBF. The MOA undertakes to provide financial assistance including tuition and miscellaneous fees to the qualified scholar.
