The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has been selected by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) as an awardee in the category of the Top 10 Ranking SUCs with the Most Number of Programs Awarded Level II Reaccredited Status.

Dr. Perfecto A. Alibin, USeP President, accepted the said award during the 28th AACCUP Annual National Conference held at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel on February 16 – 18, 2015.


YSU Indonesian Students Visit USeP

As part of the International Cooperation between Yogyakarta State University (YSU) in Indonesia, and the University of Southeastern Philippines, selected YSU students and faculty visited USeP on February 16 to 22, 2015 for a sit-in program.

During the welcome ceremony that was held on February 17, Dr. Perfecto A. Alibin, USeP President, underscored that the level of economy should match the level of education hence, partnership between the two state universities should continue as it is a form of strengthening their positions in the global economy.


Consul General Eko Hartono, Republic of Indonesia in Davao City, in his message during the same event, pointed out that universities need to tap resources and expertise in order to compete. He also encouraged the YSU students that are currently visiting USeP to study and interact more in order to improve understanding, solidarity, and friendship.


The agreement between YSU and USeP started on March 17, 2010. One of the major objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the two state universities, is to develop educational cooperation on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit, as well as to promote relations and mutual understanding.

Holcim Donates Mining and Geology Books to USeP

To support the education of Mining Engineering and Geology students, Holcim Philippines, Inc. donated books on the said fields to the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) on February 3, 2015.

Ms. Basilia M. Devilleres, CSR and Admin Services Manager, Holcim, turned over fifteen (15) modules of educational reference materials to Dr. Perfecto A. Alibin, USeP President, with a total cost of Php 100,000.00.

Holcim and USeP partnership aims to strengthen the capacity of the region to manage its resources effectively, ensure the preservation of the environment, and warrant sustainable developments for the years to come.

Other projects of the said partnership includes the establishment of geo-hazard maps in the Tibungco and Bunawan areas in Davao City. The project was successfully completed with the help of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region XI. [- USeP PIO]


USEP Participates in Thai Uni Research

USEP recently participated in a research in teacher education conducted among five Asian  universities  led by the Graduate School of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University (SDRU) of Bangkok, Thailand.


USeP Conducts Orientation-Workshop on E-Resources

The University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) hosted an orientation-workshop on databases on January 20, 2015 at the ULRC Library.

The workshop is in line with the ULRC’s goal to offer quality services through the provision of in demand, updated, relevant and comprehensive level of library collection.

In order to maximize the use of ProQuest, E-brary, ACM, and IEEE, the URLC invited 70 participants to the orientation-workshop with the following objectives:

·      Know the electronic resources available in the library;

·      Learn how to access e-books, e-journals, online newspapers, theses and dissertations, and etc. using the general and remote access (access at home);

·      Be aware of the different systems in the library.

ProQuest Central plus E-brary covers 160 subject areas, 116,000 e-book titles, 19,000 e-journals, over 50,000 full text dissertations, and over 50,000 working papers. ACM (American Computing Machinery) on the other hand has 391,000 full text articles with 20,000 added each year, 2,000 proceedings, 5,805 video files, 594 audio files, newsletters, e-journals, and magazines. In addition, IEEE contains over three million technical documents.
