Message of the Dean

It is with heartfelt joy that I welcome you to the Institute of Computing (IC) website, our home in cyberspace.

We at the Institute of Computing pride ourselves on many things. We take pride as we belong to one of the premier institutions in the country, the University of Southeastern Philippines. We take pride on our students being regarded as among the best with certification passers, year after year. We take pride on our graduates who have excelled and continue to excel in many different places across the Philippines and throughout the world. We take pride on our academic excellence, the relevance of our undergraduate and graduate programs to the country and the region, and on the high demand for our graduates. We take pride as well on our faculty and staff who are working hard to ensure the best quality education for our students.

Our aspiration is to prepare students to produce results that matter. Students are given the opportunity to work in several practical researches and development projects under the close supervision of our faculty members whose areas of expertise range from data, information and knowledge management to software engineering, networking, web, game and mobile programming, intelligent systems and machine learning. With state-of-the art teaching methods and techniques, students learn fundamental IT theories which are then used to derive information-technology-based solutions to "real-world" problems. In addition, students have outside classroom activities that include visits to several leading organizations in the country whose reputations for business excellence stem from effective use of IT.

Apart from our commitment for academic excellence, IC is also responsible for maintaining USeP's academic and administrative systems and the information technology infrastructure that supports them. From maintaining the institution's network to ensuring critical day-to-day operations to developing new portal applications, the support provided by IC covers a vast array of Information Technology products and services.

It is said that a student's IC experience is demanding, but it is assured that it is also imminently rewarding.
